| NEW CHURCH TEMPORARY CONSECRATION AND PERUNAL

NEW CHURCH
By the grace of God we have almost finished the construction of our church. Let us praise God for His wonderful blessings during these years.
To build a temple for God is a great opportunity. David the great king of Israel wished to build a temple for God. But God did not allow him to build the temple. His son Solomon fulfilled the ambition of his father. The temple that was built by Solomon was the first Jerusalem temple.
As you know our parish is a small one in this diocese. But when we were ready to submit our resources and talents, God has used it and blessed us with this church building.
Church is the House of God. When we approach the church we must be very careful. The church is the place only for prayer, worship and Bible study. We do not use it for any other purposes such as get togethers and family celebrations. Also we do not spoil the church by our disputes, arguments and ego. In his letter to the 1 Corinthians St. Paul says, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you. If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy.”
On the day of the dedication of the First Jerusalem temple King Solomon prayed, “Lord let Your eyes and Your ears be open to the supplication of Your servant and the supplication of Your people Israel, to hear them about everything, whenever they call to You. For You O Lord and Master separated them from all the peoples of the earth to be Your inheritance, as You said by Your servant Moses when You brought our fathers out of Egypt.”
Then Solomon said concerning the House he had finished building, “The Lord made known the sun in heaven. He spoke to those dwelling in darkness – Build My house a house of splendor for yourself. To dwell in newness - Behold is this not written in the book of the ode-…….Let your heart therefore be perfect to the Lord our God that you walk piously in His statutes and keep his commandments as today.”
I wish that when we go to the new church this should be our prayer also. Those who pray in this church with their whole hearts should receive blessings of God abundantly
Next Tuesday (November 2) is the Feast of Parumala Thirumeni our Patron Saint. On that day if God allows let us enter the church. All the members should come to the church before 7 p m. On that day you can bring the articles you have purchased for church including Qurbana kramams and offer it as your nercha.
We have the pictures, icons and crosses that we need. So please do not buy any other articles for the church. Later if we need anything I shall let you know and those who wish to buy it can do so.
Perunal
During these years we conducted our perunal on the first Saturday after November 02. This year perunal and Temporary Consecration will be conducted on November 06 and 07 (Saturday and Sunday).
On November 06, Saturday evening prayers will start at 5.30 p m followed by the Consecration.
On November 07, (Sunday) morning prayers will be start at 7.30 a.m. followed by Holy Qurbana, procession, and nercha vilampu. Neyyappam is proposed for nercha.
As in the previous years there will be an auction (Adyaphala Lelam). Last year, I expressed my wish to collect $10,000 from the lelam for the increasing financial need of our church - and everyone cooperated and we collected that amount. This year as you know the financial condition is worse than last year. And also we have a good amount as loan. However, I am not suggesting a specific amount. But I urge everyone to bring items to the church and buy auctioned items for a good price. This is the nercha of the people.
All our members are requested to adjust their leave on these days and participate in the services

| Seven New Metropolitans
|
On May 12, 2010, the Malankara Church consecrated seven new Metropolitans for the Apostolic See of St. Thomas. His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthomas Didymus I, assisted by His Beatitude Paulose Mar Milithios and other Metropolitans, consecrated the seven Rambans to the exalted Episcopacy.
